A Pious girl Paraskeva leaves her life among the people in the city of Constantinople and goes to the Jordanian desert where she spends the next 40 years of her life fighting temptations, sins, and inner demons. We follow her journey from and ordinary girl to the most beloved and respected Saint of Orthodoxy.
The side story tells us about two women, Arab woman Zeynebi from Bedouin tribe and Paraskeva, who come from different cultural, social and religious backgrounds, but share the same human emotions, values and create an unusual friendship with their pure hearts.
During her stay in the desert, Zeynebi is Paraskeva’s only friend but also a mirror and reflection of the outside world that Paraskeva left behind.
The film is based on a true story and novel "Petkana" by Ljiljane Habjanović Djurović.
